Police are still looking for the people who broke into a Wyandotte County home in April and shot and killed a man.
Jeffery J. Rogers, 25, was shot to death early on April 9 at a home near 84th Street and Tauromee Avenue.
Police said they think the killers came as a group, possibly four or five people.
Rogers' family is pleading for information that can help catch the killers.
"He was a good, positive son. I miss him. And I just want these people to do the right thing," said Nancy Euler, Rogers' mother.
Anyone with information in the case can call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hot line at 816-474-TIPS.
An event to raise reward money in the case will be held on Aug. 16 at Butler's Muffler Shop in Leavenworth, Kan., which is next to the K-Mart. The fundraiser will feature live music and will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
A memorial fund has been set up to help the family. Donations can be sent to the Jeff Rogers Memorial Fund, care of UMB Bank in Kansas City, Kan.
Relatives said a celebration of Rogers' life will be held later this month at his favorite place --- Bull Shoals Lake, which is on the border of Missouri and Arkansas.

Neighbors are calling it the "sodomy house" because of a strange sign posted outside.
The house getting all the attention is at 99th Terrace and Quivira Road in Lenexa. The word sodomy is spelled out with blue tape on the garage door windows, and it is accompanied by a woman's picture.
"The first look, we were, like, 'so do my.' It took a second to kick in that it was sodomy," neighbor Justin Whedon told KMBC's Chris Nagus.
Whedon said his neighbor once offered an explanation for the sign.
"One day, he got home, my wife got home -- he was yelling the picture was of his wife. She said, 'Why does it say sodomy?' He said, 'That's what they are doing to her,'" Whedon said.
According to the neighborhood association's Web site, signs are prohibited unless it's a for sale sign.
"I just think about it as the creepy house on the corner," neighbor Brandon Glover said.
Glover said he's also upset because the house is unkempt. No one answered the door when KMBC knocked.
Several neighbors on the block said that the man who posted the sign is in jail.
"Somebody needs to get in there and take it down. Pretty much everybody sees it," Glover said.
KMBC wasn't able to reach either the Oak Park Homes Association or the property owner.

A Kansas family is waiting for a rabies test to come back after a 9-year-old boy was bit by a bat he found in his yard.
Dominick Emperley said he found four bats in the grass in the front yard of his family's home in Ottawa. He was feeling adventurous, so he picked them up.
"Went over got a cage and put them on the porch," Dominick told KMBC's Dan Weinbaum.
"We put them in a cage because the dog catcher doesn't work on Sundays," said Jennifer Ray, Dominick's mother.
She said they planned to let the bats go eventually. But the bats had a mind of their own -- two got loose in the house, and only one was caught.
And then on Tuesday, the missing bat found Dominick.
"He was getting his swim trunks to go swimming and a baby bat latched onto his finger," Ray said. "I was scared, so I called the ER."
The police were called because of the bats.
"They're already gone. The police took them," Dominick said.
"They were put down by a local vet and sent to K-State for (rabies) testing," Ottawa police Chief Dennis Butler said.
Police cited Ray for keeping exotic animals within city limits
"You can't keep wild or exotic animals as pets in your home," Butler said.
Meanwhile, Dominick said he's learned a lesson about bats.
"Don't touch them," the 9-year-old said.
But his mother said Dominick still wants other pets.
"Snakes, frogs, hermit crabs -- he wants a fish and a bird," Ray said.
"I like scaring my dad with snakes," Dominick said.
Ray paid more than $400 to have the bats tested. She's fine for the citation, but the police chief said she probably won't serve any jail time.
