'Torre Eiffel' é uma torre de ferro construída no Campo de Marte ao lado do Rio Sena em Paris. A torre tornou-se um ícone mundial da França é uma das mais conhecidas estruturas do mundo. Inaugurada em 31 de Março de 1889, a Torre Eiffel foi construída para honrar o centenário da Revolução Francesa. O Governo da França planejou uma Exposição mundial e anunciou uma competição de design arquitetônico para um monumento que seria construído no Champ-de Mars, no centro de Paris. Mais de cem designs foram submetidos ao concurso. O comitê do Centenário escolheu o plano de Gustave Eiffel de uma torre com uma estrutura metálica que se tornaria, então, a estrutura mais alta do mundo construída pelo homem. Com seus 317 metros de altura, possuía 7300 toneladas quando foi construída, sendo que atualmente deva passar das 10000, já que são abrigados restaurantes, museus, lojas, entre muitas outras estruturas que não possuía na época de sua construção. Eiffel, um notável construtor de pontes era um mestre nas construções de metais e tinha sido o desenhista da armação da Estátua da Liberdade, que tinha sido erguida recentemente no porto de Nova Iorque. Quando o contrato de vinte anos do terreno da Exposição mundial (de 1889) expirou, em 1909, a Torre Eiffel quase que foi demolida, mas o seu valor como uma antena de transmissão de Rádio a salvou. Os últimos vinte metros desta magnífica torre correspondem a antena de rádio que foi adicionada posteriormente. Recebe o nome de seu projetista, o engenheiro Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923). A torre é visitada anualmente por 6,9 milhões de pessoas.

The city's motto is "München mag dich" ("Munich likes you"). Its native name, München, is derived from the Old German word for Mönche, which means "Monks" in English. This is the reason for the monk on the city's coat-of-arms. Black and gold - the colours of the Holy Roman Empire - have been the city's official colours since the time of Ludwig the Bavarian.
Munich is not the only location within Bavaria known as "München", three locations exist. The one which is known as "Munich", another which is northeast of the city of Nuremberg, and also a town north of the city of Passau.
Geography:
Munich lies on the elevated plains of Upper Bavaria, about 50 km north of the northern edge of the Alps, at an altitude of about 520 m. The local rivers are the Isar and the Würm. Munich is situated in the Northern Alpine Foreland. The northern part of this sandy plateau includes a highly fertile flint area which is no longer affected by the folding processes found in the Alps, while the southern part is covered by morainic hills. In between there are fields of fluvio-glacial out-wash, like around Munich. Wherever these deposits get thinner, the ground water can permeate the gravel surface and flood the area, leading to marshes as in the north of Munich.

L'arc de triomphe de l'Étoile appelé partout dans le monde l'Arc de Triomphe, est situé à Paris, sur la place de l'Étoile, à l'extrémité ouest de l'avenue des Champs-Élysées, à 2,2 kilomètres de la place de la Concorde. Haut de 50 mètres et large de 45 mètres, il est géré par le Centre des monuments nationaux.
La place de l'Étoile forme un énorme rond-point de douze avenues percées au XIXe siècle sous l'impulsion du baron Haussmann, alors préfet du département de la Seine. Ces avenues « rayonnent » en étoile autour de la place, notamment l'avenue de la Grande-Armée, l'avenue de Wagram et, bien sûr, l'avenue des Champs-Élysées. Des pavés de couleurs différentes dessinent sur le sol de la place deux étoiles dont les pointes arrivent pour l'une au milieu des avenues, pour l'autre entre les avenues.

The Arc de Triomphe is an iconic Triumphal arch in Paris, France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l'Étoile (Star Square). It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The arch honours those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought. Underneath is the tomb of the unknown soldier from World War I.
The monument stands 49.5 metres (165 ft) in height, 45 metres (148 ft) wide and 22 meters (72 ft) deep. It is the second largest triumphal arch in existence (replaced in 1984 by a Korean arc of triumphe). Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus.
