In 2003 Jason Harris and Bobby Smith conceived the idea of a world class glass art studio on the island of Maui. Within one month the team officially started DaFactory. DaFactory is based in principal on Andy Warhol's infamous 1960's "Factory" of New York City. Blending the ultimate Hawaiian vibe with the excitement of an art party, DaFactory is buzzing with the energy of many skilled artisans creating incredible works of mixed media art. Though our focus is centered on glass, the industrial setting provides for creation of large scale works in all mediums. DaFactory's state of the art technology releases artists from the historical limits of glass in quality and scale, raising the bar for all of Hawaii.

DaFactory is an ULTRA-SHOP with state of the art equipment. * 1400 square foot shop * Open floorplan * 600 lb pot furnace * 1 Large hole * 2 medium holes * 1 small hole * DaFactory is setup to create large scale glass work. * DaFactory hosts Live Glassblowing events. * DaFactory has parties that spark lots of creative energy. * DaFactory has art happening simultaneously in a variety of different mediums. * DaFactory hosts world class chefs who incorporate glassworking equipment and hot glass into food creation! * DaFactory is located in the famous Pauwela Cannery, an old pineapple cannery turned artistic hotspot and housing a variety of unique businesses including: o A coffee spot o Several surfboard shapers o Woodworkers, welders and more
