How I ended up here:
Last year, I finally decided that I need to do something with my singing/playing (beyond playing on the back porch, that is), the idea being "better late than never". I began posting covers on here in March (2007), hoping to gain a bit more self-confidence, maybe generate some constructive criticism, etc. I especially liked the idea of posting a song or two, while also remaining fairly anonymous. Hopefully ~someone~ out there would like what I'm doing...and, if not, they could tell me why, or what I should work on.
What has resulted has been truly overwhelming to say the least. Over 800 subscribers, as of today (5-28-08). Un...be...lievable. THANK YOU~ to everyone who has left a comment on one of my songs. Your kind words have been invaluable to me. I've actually become brave enough to try playing at a few open mics here in the Nashville area. I don't think I ever would have tried singing in front of actual LIVE people, if not for the encouragement of my wonderful friends here. I really can't thank you enough.
I haven't been able to keep up with replying to all of the comments I receive, but I do read and appreciate them (well, I appreciate most of them, anyway!).
I encourage anyone who likes to play or sing to try posting a song or two. The chances are pretty good that SOMEONE will like what you're doing.
You'll never know if you don't try, right?

Other boring stuff about me:
I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota (USA). I'm lucky to be the mom of two wonderful sons (ages 18 and 15).
I'm married to THE most incredible husband in the world, who puts up with a LOT (including my penchant for spending too much time on youtube!). Although he frequently does remark that I'm "high maintenance" (to which I reply: "Yes...and I'm definitely worth it!"). For some reason, I can never quite hear what he mumbles back in return... but I'm sure it's something like: "Oh yes, you certainly are!" ;)
I'm especially fond of: hydrangeas, old garden roses, thunderstorms, kittens, antique photographs, vintage dresses, old guitars, and stained glass. I love to collect interesting rocks, driftwood, and old silver baby cups.
I'm into organic gardening, and I'm an avid recycler; I'm always finding new ways to use old stuff! I'm frequently told that I ask too many questions, and I am usually 5 minutes late for just about everything. My kids say I'm more immature than they are (I consider that a compliment, though). ______________________________ _
For all of those who have left helpful comments regarding capo use ("the capo isn't necessary", "try it without the capo next time", "so-and-so doesn't use a capo", etc.).....thank you SO MUCH!
Hey, what IS a capo for, anyway? Because, quite honestly, I have NO idea.
(I really just use one because I think it looks cool.....sort of like jewelry, for your guitar!) ;)
