So with your understanding, how can you possibily even believe in thought? Thought makes abosolutely no sense by your standards. If you can grasp the concept of "thought" and believe it exists, what makes it so difficult to take that thought to a different level? (Shaking my head with perplexed brow.) You make something obvious seem illogical. Thought isn't logical at all.

sure it has, by this magical whatyamacallit. Whatever you say crescent, honestly it sounds like something a monk would make up on a drug induced trip, but sure.

Your brain is something that has been created to carry you here, not the other way around.
|
||
|
That's where the difference lies. If you are wrong, you don't die. The only thing that changes...is the vessel. Everything about you that puts your brain into action, your body into motion, your thoughts into formation....doesn't change. It transfers. You will know it isn't your imagination just as you know it now.

Hehe, well even if I did believe in something I would probably not argue or discuss too much about it. I wouldn't preach or tyring to express my opinions in a conversation. I've been online since 1996, and if there's something I've learned it's never to argue on the internet. Especially not religion or politics. That is done way better in real life.
But yeah, sometimes I just canät help myself. And I find myself arguing with a racist, a Christian or a conservative. |

Crescent, you can never discover a definitive truth, they really don't exist. Even if an atheist came across a spirit who told them god existed and that they were an angel, that atheist would probably assume they were on a drug trip or hallucinating- and I'd say they were probably right in thinking so. That just means it's really impossible to prove something 100%, and in that case, although we'd like to think we are all 100% sure we cannot possibly be. That includes every theist and atheist.

What are you going to do if you discover you are wrong? You must admit, you can't possibly be 100% certain. So what if you're wrong?

Well, I think it's safe to say I have no faith in the supernatural at all. I don't believe in a God and I don't believe in an afterlife. I don't believe in spirits and I don't believe that the stars have some sort of effect on our lives.
I'm just one of those who can appreciate the beautiful garden without hoping there are fairies underneath it. Why? I guess you read my discussion on the video about abiogenesis. |
