Hey! I'm Nervous! I picked this name ages ago because it describes me nicely. It takes into account both my passion for neuroscience and my nervous temperament. I'm a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience (physiology) hons student, and my favourite part of the brain is the amygdala. I hope to do research in the future. I am also interested in reducing the stigma surrounding neurlogical conditions, in which I include mental illness.

I have social anxiety and have had several major depressive episodes, so I can share my experiences with those.

I'm also interested in several areas of neuroendocrinology (the study of how the nervous system and the hormones interact), such as how hormones affect mood and stress (especially oxytocin and the HPA axis), how reproduction affects stress, the physiology of sleep and dreaming and of course, fear processing!

I am also interested in animal welfare and ethics, especially in experimentation. Animals may not be able to tell us it hurts, but they can show us it hurts.

<b>R u a boy or a gurl?</b> I get asked this a lot. You may refer to me as he or she, it doesn't make a difference to me.

Interests and Hobbies: Research as above. Nintendo fangirl here. Love the Mario Bros and Pokemon even more! Hanging out for diamond/perl DS! Love world of warcraft (Vivisectress on Dath'Remar, horde side, lvl 70 Pre-Kara) I also like writing fiction and drawing cartoons and comics, but I NEVER finish these! And of course TALKING ABOUT MYSELF on blogs!

Mental Health

These are videos related to *my* mental health. I experience depressive episodes and social anxiety disorder. I talk about how I deal with them, such as talk therapy, medications, etc. I also have delayed sleep phase and a fear of toadstools which are not clinically significant (basically, I'm weird, but they don't intefere with my life enough to be diagnosed with a mental illness)

I was surfing through Youtube to find some educational videos on neuroscience, particularly on neuroanatomy (absolutely LOVE anatomy!) and I came across you're videos. The videos are gr8 (to be frank, the "noob" video was a little annoying thought, but all the other vids were "thumbs up".) and I love the fact that you're in to video games as much as science, such stark contrast reflect in my personality as well: LOVE anime/ cartoons/ video games/ fan fiction lol. I'm currently specializing in neuroscience as my degree on arts and science (honours) and just as urself I get the "gender" card slamed on me all the time, lol. (only by name and display pic..... btw, that's Johnny Depp (squeal, lol) on my display pic [i belong to the opposite species from him], lol) Anyways, nice to meet a friend in neuro, please do accept my friend request. ~Cheers~

How can u assume this one real video clip present the whole story of so many different types of animal tests ??????????? If there were no cruel things going on, how would the people against animal testing be able to use the technique called selective journalism ??????????
