Many thanks to all of the freethinkers out there who attempt to bring some rationality to Youtube. I know from experience that it can be extraordinarily frustrating.

Still, I would like to encourage some sympathy for those so indoctrinated, especially from childhood, that they seem simply unable to think critically about faith. Personally, I know how painful it is to realize that the core of your life philosophy (what you were taught was the very core of your being) was based on lies, lies, lies; and how difficult it is to come to terms with that.

Thanks for your comment on my channel:-) Yeah, its a problem, but people are open to thinking about it when its pointed out. I've done a few videos, for example, highlighting the broad brush demonisation of Islam, and gotten quite good feedback from a mostly atheist audience.

We have a real problem though in the religious camp. The more extreme among the theists are shot through with out and out charlatans and con men, who will say and do anything to make a fast buck.

These people have discovered a niche, initially staked out by the televangelists of the 1980's, that allows them to say, do and behave in almost any way they like, and yet continue to rake in the cash.

If they scream against sin, they rake in the cash. If they are caught in sin, they write a book about "their darkest hour" and rake in the cash. No matter how much evidence accrues in academia for evolution, they say it's nonsense and rake in the cash.

How DO you deal with this level of dishonesty without criminalising free (but quite obviously lies) speech? It's one I've been scratching my head about recently.

Hey Nothingnesswithouten --

Thanks for the nice words on my videos, and I apologize for taking forever to respond!

We took down "Let's Go After the Buddhists" to make room for other videos -- we thought at the time that we should put up just a few songs at a time. We'll probably put it back up soon (and it will certainly be on the DVD we're going to release at the end of the year.)

If you get a chance, please drop by my website and sign up on my mailing list -- that way you'll receive a monthly newsletter about gigs and new music.
All the best,
Roy
