Here's another ON TV on-screen station ID - during the movie "The Blues Brothers" (which as everyone knows is the greatest film in the history of film and any other recorded medium up to and including cave paintings) 8-)
Not sure when this aired, but likely 1981 or 1982.

Here's another ON TV on-screen station ID - during the movie "It's My Turn" which starred Jill Clayburgh and Michael Douglas. (I know this drags on, but I couldn't help seeing how long the clip would go without Michael Douglas saying anything coherent) :-)
This aired on local Chicago TV in the latter half of 1981.

Before the tape cut off, after the ON TV airing of "The Cat and the Canary" concluded there were some promos about to start, at the beginning of which used the ON TV "Coming" animation with music. This music is different than another example seen here - this music seems likely to be older to me, before they had standardized things more. Again, we'll have to wait for more examples to know for sure.
By the way, anyone know the music used in this? It sounds like Journey or Styx or some other kind of 70's band.

Here is an on-screen station ID during the ON TV presentation of the movie "The Cat and the Canary".
Notice that it's different from other examples that I have accurately dated from 1981. There isn't even any mention of WSNS. I think it is either earlier than the other examples, meaning from 1980 when ON TV started in Chicago, or possibly later, say 1984 or so. However, based on other evidence I am guessing 1980. We'll have to wait for more examples to surface before we know for sure.

Here's the opening for the ON TV presentation of the Bob Hope movie "The Cat and the Canary". Includes the ON TV logo animation at the beginning, but curiously, no MPAA ratings notice. Could this be because it's an early ON TV clip before they started doing that? It couldn't be that it's just an innocuous G-rated film, because they would show the rating even when it was G. Strange.
Not sure when this aired, but based on this and the on-screen ID, it could possibly be from 1980 when ON TV started in Chicago.
