It seems that I have had a good junior year in High School. I got a 4 out of 5 in my college board AP U.S. History exam and a perfect score on my U.S. History S.O.L. exam. On my SAT's I got a 1200 combined math and reading and a 1700 combined math, reading, and writing. I passed all of my AP and Honors courses and I will be taking Dual Enrolment English for my senior year. My current G.P.A. is 3.2. It's lower than I want it to be but I am sure I will be able to bring it up in my first semester in time for college applications.

I am 17 years old and I live in Virginia. I play as a guard on my high schools football team. My plan is to go to Virginia Tech or VMI, and study history but I'm thinking about joining the army or marines right out of High School.

My family has a long history of being in the military. My dad was in the National Guard, my Grandfather fought in Korea, my great uncle fought on Iwo Jima, and my great great great grandfather fought at Gettysburg for the 26th North Carolina regiment.

I am a Republican and I will be voting for the first time this november. I don't trust either Clinton at all. I like Obama as a person but I don't like his policies. Huckabee is a cool guy but he doesn't have a chance to win the election. The canidate that I am supporing is John McCain. I don't agree with him on some things but I like his foriegn policy and his ability to be bipartisan when he has to be and make compromises.

My poilitical beliefs are this, stay in Iraq and Afaganistan untill the job is done (no matter how long it takes), stop illegal imigration, and no universal health care.

I am Catholic but I believe that abortion should be legal in cases of rape, incest, the pregnant mother is under 16, and if the mother is physically unable to have a child. I do not believe that a mother has the right to terminate her pregnancy just because she does not want to have the child (there is another A word that you can use in cases like these, ADOPTION). In this day and age with all the birth control that we have there should be no way somebody gets pregnant by accident.

Rules that I live my life by

1. Empathize with your enemy.
2. Rationality will not save us.
3. There's something beyond one's self.
4. Maximize efficiency.
5. Proportionality should be a guideline in war.
6. Get the data.
7. Belief and seeing are both often wrong.
8. Be prepared to reexamine your reasoning.
9. In order to do good, you may have to engage in evil.
10. Never say never.
11. You can't change human nature.

From "The Fog of War"

In a speech to a bunch of highschoolers Bill Gates laid out the 11 things he did not learn in School.

RULE 1
Life is not fair - get used to it.
RULE 2
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel
good about yourself.
RULE 3
You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with car phone, until you earn both.
RULE 4
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.
RULE 5
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping they called it Opportunity.
RULE 6
If you mess up,it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
RULE 7
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
RULE 8
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
RULE 9
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
RULE 10
Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
RULE 11
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Part 2. Cosmologist admit they don't yet know what caused the big bang. I don't mind people saying that their religion does and that its the absolute unassailable truth. But if thats the case then lets have the details. What ever lurks inside the world of quantum physics and singularity cant be masculine or feminine so what is this God thing. What did it do to cause the big bang, how did it all happen.

If you don't know than you really don't know much more than I do. The plain fact is that none of us knows so lets stop pretending we do. Sitting around arguing about what we don't know is like ancient Greeks trying to use philosophy to work out what powers the sun. But one thing we do know is that we cant use the Bible or the Koran as evidence because the evidence that we can see shows that these books are erroneous.

Part 1. Patton1019 said "I see you have given several examples of how science has replaced God. Tell me what you think of the Big Bang?"

The Big Bang is the cosmological model of the universe that is best supported by all lines of scientific evidence and observation. The essential idea is that the universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past and continues to expand to this day.

Without any evidence associated with the earliest instant of the expansion, the Big Bang theory cannot and does not provide any explanation for such an initial condition. The theory accurately explains the general evolution of the universe since that instant.

Fine, you are right. I just thought it would be funny for some reason. It was stupid, I apologize.

Now we are at war we need to finish it.
When we have won, we must send Bush to the war tribunal in The Hague.
TTHERROR | July 17, 2008
looks like you had a hell of a war yesterday on fantasy channel, from what i have heard a chicken hawk is an older gay dude who prays on smaller younger dudes.well that makes sense, so nas was the chicken hawk not you.that dude needs an exorcism, total negative person, spews only vileness from his mouth.he is loser, even if he appears as a winner.

I support Obama, because for 1, he wants to stop the war in Iraq. I do not believe in the Iraqi war; the people of the US (As far as I know) never wanted to go to war with Iraq, and this has made the US look really bad. 2, Obama will crack down on employers who commit job discrimination against Veterins. 3, he's going to increase the employment reate with people with disabilities (my aunt is mentally disable). I'm also a democrat my self. I'm 14 though, I can't vote but I can hope.

Iraq? You poor bastard...why not wait it out a little? I have many family members in the military, and they all tell me that the only way to succeed and grow in the military is to go to college and become an officer.
TTHERROR | July 09, 2008
yeah ,well the fact is that if people have recieved no gain out of being religious, they would have stopped following it by now.i have gained tons of spiritual gain from it, as i am sure others have as well.

Yes well regardless of who first told about catholicism, you have taken up, by listening to them. You did not invent it.

As I said, MY OPINION is that your delusion won't last, we will just have to sit that one out to see.

Why?

Because one day the penny will drop that your history studies have only proven that Christians have existed, over history. But nothing you find even comes close to supporting the supposed 'word of god', in your scripture.

Your intelligence will one day nut this out, until then, you can expect many sane people to laugh at you or at least disrespect your intelligence.
