***NOTE***
Yes, my display name is Rasta1982. No I'm not a Rasta. These words I spread are just thoughts from my head, even though I am not a natty dread, it was reggae music that I was fed and changed the life that I had led. I made the name a long time ago and can't change it. The reason I did was because rocksteady, ska, R n B, roots, dub, reggae etc. did more for me as a musician than any other music. It started me singing and helped my rhythm and I started writing songs. Take it for what it is. Stay positive.

I am one Eclectic Eccentric Social Sound System with a healthy frustration with the world around me. I am a pragmatic-idealist who refuses to accept that simply because it is the ideal that it is unattainable... That there are always steps, we just gotta find the right ones even if they conflict with our own self interest. To achieve the impossible, "it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought."

I graduated in 2005 from UC Santa Barbara with my BA in Political Science - International Relations. I've decided to run for Emperor on a secessionist platform for California. WAKE UP. PAY ATTENTION. Be an agent of change and a weaver of your own world.

I still highlight and annotate all my books and I'm usually 2-3 deep. I refuse to buy an iPod because I refuse to block out the world (Still, I have more MP3s than I know what to do with and their days are numbered). The only reason I would want an iPod is so that I could listen to free University lectures. I ride my bike to work everyday. You know... reducing my Carbon Footprint by Court Order. I am for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that keeps music moving forward. Music isn't a business... IT'S AN INALIENABLE RIGHT.

And remember kids, the RIAA is not your friends.

My friend called me up saying he was going to the Belly Up to check out this show. Since he was going by himself (and since I've been to many a show by myself) I went with him out of principal and moral support. Ha. The Belly Up was packed and the band was already a couple songs in before I finally managed to meander towards the front for vids. They really had some energy. Loud and pumping sound. Liked what the guitars were doing with their effects. Slide and autoharp were cool. Singer's vocal phrasing at times reminded me of Mazzy Star mixed with a little shrill excitement of Bjork only a little more edgier. That and Nico, but that could have been because of the blonde hair and accent? Short set but really cool. This was their first show of their tour and I'm definitely glad I have them on my radar.
