more info: web.mac.com/reelifeproductions/allmyplasticmelondreams ===== "teaser"#2 for this documentary that I've been "working" on for the last 17 years. Jon talking about recording albums vs. playing live. ========= These interviews were at the beginning of their career, before they even played at the Paradise in Boston. I was beginning my career as a video producer and was also booking talent for UMASS, Amherst (MA) concerts, lived in Burlington, VT, went to Hinesburg shows, Nectars, etc...
There's an 8 minute interiew at Pearl Street (Northampton, MA, '89) and a 45 minute interview (and soundcheck!) at Hampshire College (Amherst, MA, '91).
I plan on incorporating a bunch of interviews with "phisheads" that were at these shows and flashbacks and a bunch of other creative twists, etc.
I need an assistant/intern (unpaid-unfortunately) to help coordinate the additional interviews, collect footage etc...so, I still have another 75% to go!!
I can't wait to complete this documentary...it's been about 17 years in the making...and the stuff that Trey and Jon say is incredible..and their energy and honesty and passion is amazing (as expected)...so I want the rest of the world to see this!... It's just that I got married, started my production company and had two kids in the meantime...thus the, well, 17 year delay.
Once I have enough of the additional work done, I'll make an official "trailer" that I will show the band & Dionysian Productions and get full copyright approval and all the legal stuff and be planning on a full scale theatrical release ... which will probably take another 5 years!
I'm glad there's still interest ...as I'm sure there always will be...for this incredibly cool band that affected so many people's lives in a positive way!
