July Football Magazine Must Read by PirloLuvr

It's been awhile since I've reported on a football article, though there have been a few good ones ("Diamonds & Pirlo" in Calcio Italia for instance). Our bookstores finally got the July Four Four Two magazine and it was great reading.

First there was an interesting interview of Capello. He's a great leader that will whip Engand back into shape. There's also a great reader letter on the class and talent of Paulo Maldini and the reader requests a special story on Paulo as he retires. AMEN, I have written of that request here--magazines should be singing his praises this year.

There was a nice small article on Roger Federer (I also love to watch Tennis) and how he could have been a footballer. Alas, his destiny was on a court not on a pitch!

And saving the best for last, a great profile of both Gattuso and Pirlo, called the "Odd Couple." Strangely, I have seen that title on articles of the two before. Can't journalists think of any other words to describe the two-- like the "dynamic duo" or something like that?

Anyway it's a great profile piece switching between the both of them and it's nice to know they are friends off the pitch. There is a cool casual picture of Andrea leading the story!

It was revealing to learn that Andrea really IS bothered by not having won the Footballer of the Year award. Andrea, you are the Footballer of the Year, even the decade to me, and if you come to Ohio, I will give you a beautiful trophy to recognize this!
