During the summer of 1977, after busking around Europe I came home for something to eat and immediately ended up going on a two week tour of Cornwall and the Scilly Isles with Cappo - still needing something to eat. SORRY about the still photo, but its all I have, the song and the man is the special bit. Can anybody help me identify the pub? I thought it was in Perranporth, the 'Green Parrot' ??? It was run by a big blonde woman in a big black frock who frightened me shitless. I asked her for a gig and she said ' give me one good reason', -I couldn't get any words out. Answers on a postcard please ! Notice the 4X10's PA system! We ended up in Newquay at the lovely lovely Dennis Quixbys' place, who never put his teeth in and had a never ending bottle of brandy. God I was so sick! Does anybody out there remember these people?? Tony made 'punch and Judy man' his own song with all respect to John Connoly. Tony tortured me with his own brand of English Folk song, and his unique interpretation of it, songs which have stuck in my brain all these years. In the photo he is playing a 'Tama' acoustic, god knows why he played this instead of his beloved Martin D28. I had my old Gibson J45, and we would play 'Goodnight Irene' together and then strip off! What a show! He always ingratiated himself with audiences and I remember a lovely crowd of German visitors being treated to storys of Spitfires and Lancasters. Went down a bomb. I have some other snippets of 'Cappo' which I will soon put on but would love to hear from anyone else out there. If theres anyone playing the banjo in heaven tonite , its Cappo!

Wolfe Tones singing Boston Rose. 1989. Tralee Kerry. Written by Liam Reilly.
Now the autumn leaves are falling and the tourists have all gone and the children they have all gone back to school and my life is as it was before, I work eight hours a day but the company's still making all the rules But there's a girl in Massachusettes, south of Boston town she said and her lovely face is with me all the day sure I met her down in old Tralee, golden hair upon her head and I took her heart and she stole mine away
Goodbye my Boston beauty farewell my Boston Rose I'll wait for you, I'll think of you, no threat to you I'll pose goodbye my Boston Beauty, farewell my Boston Rose I wish that you were here but I know, that's the way life goes
There's a song we sang all summer of the bars in Dublin town I can hear it on the fac'try radio and the feelings I remember, when I hear that simple tune make me wonder if it really happens so for we laughed and loved together 'till the summer days were gone and she had to fly across the ocean wide so goodbye my Boston beauty until we meet again And I'll keep the fire burning deep inside
Goodbye my Boston beauty farewell my Boston Rose I'll wait for you, I'll think of you, no threat to you I'll pose goodbye my Boston Beauty, farewell my Boston Rose I wish that you were here but I know, that's the way life goes
and some nights when I'm drinkin' and my friends have gathered 'round well just for fun someone brings out your name well I smile there with the rest of them but I can't hear a sound I love you but to them it's all the same and nights when I'm alone my love you come into my mind and visions flash upon that in-ward eye well I'll watch the moon there up above And I'll leave this earth behind and I'll call to you as I go sailing by
Goodbye my Boston beauty farewell my Boston Rose I'll wait for you, I'll think of you, no threat to you I'll pose goodbye my Boston Beauty, farewell my Boston Rose I wish that you were here but I know, that's the way life goes I wish that you were here so farwell my Boston Rose.
