PLEASE READ THIS! This is a video made by YouTuber ColonelHurley in tribute to the 101st Airborne Division, which was my last duty assignment as a member of the United States Army. The song is "Rendesvouz With Destiny", the official song and motto of the division.
The 101st Airborne Division is the only Air Assault-capable, division-sized military unit in the world. It is part of the U.S. Army's XVIII Airborne Corps, and an indispensable tool for American overall military capability. It operates using helicopters as the main platform for transport and combat situations, and features the best light infantry units in the world.
It was an honor for me to serve with a unit of such distinguished history. The 101st Airborne fought for America in World War II, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf War, and is currently participating with distinction in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
At the end of the video, you'll see General David Petraeus, who was my division commander when I was there. I had the pleasure of interacting with him more than once during my time at Fort Campbell, and it is very gratifying to see him performing important duties today. He is rumored to be in the running for the position of Supreme Allied Commander Europe, where he would be in charge of all U.S. and NATO troops in that continent. I am sure he would do a fantastic job there, and I hope the best for him.

I want to post this video I made in honor of my country's birthday, which is today! It is a visual history of the events we celebrate today, and I hope you'll like it. I am a huge history buff, and I've always been fascinated by the American Revolutionary War, so making this video was very enjoyable.
This is also personal to me. My great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather on my Mother's side participated in the Delaware crossing, fought in the Battles of Trenton, Princeton, and Brandywine, and was present during the winter encampment at Valley Forge. This is something I'm intensely proud of, and I hope this video reflects that.
I apologize for the small letters, and hope that you'll be able to enjoy the video. I suffer from some technical limitations };-) ENJOY!!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!! LONG LIVE THE USA!!

In accordance with the Continental Marine Act of 1775, the Continental Congress decreed: "
In accordance with the Continental Marine Act of 1775, the Continental Congress decreed: "That two battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two lieutenant-colonels, two majors and other officers, as usual in other regiments; that they consist of an equal number of privates as with other battalions, that particular care be taken that no persons be appointed to offices, or enlisted into said battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve for and during the present war with Great Britain and the Colonies; unless dismissed by Congress; that they be distinguished by the names of the First and Second Battalions of Marines."
And so the tradition began....A few good men, (with the help of a few good women), have been America's quick reaction force since our Nation was born. Marines have fought with the utmost distinction and shed their blood for our country since 1775 without asking for anything in return, while offering the last full measure of devotion so that we can live in peace and freedom.
I am an Army guy, but I love my brother and sister Marines, because the Army may win the Nation's wars, but not without help from the Marines, who win the Nation's battles. They get to the battlefield first, they draw the first incoming fire, and they hold the enemy by the nose until the Army gets there to kick him in the ass...
"If the Army and the Navy ever gaze on Heaven's scene, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines"....As a high ranking Army General said on a TV interview not long ago while discussing the performance of the Marines in Iraq, "May God bless and keep the United States Marine Corps!"
The beautiful and very inspiring musical piece is called "Freedom", (appropriately enough), and was the inspiration of a gentleman by the name of Michael W. Smith. The image source was Yahoo & Google Image Search.
Please be civil, coherent, and respectful of the Marines and of my country! ENJOY! --------------------------------------------

A heartfelt salute to my alma mater, the United States Army! The most powerful land force
A heartfelt salute to my alma mater, the United States Army! The most powerful land force in history, the U.S. Army wins our Nation's wars, and deters our enemies from attacking by projecting strength and overwhelming firepower.
The Army is the guardian of our values, and a product of our magnificent heritage of freedom. From George Washington to David Petraeus, American Soldiers have answered the call of the Nation time and again, and this video is a tribute to them all.
Towards the end of the video you'll see me, and I hope you'll forgive my indulgence. It was the honor of a lifetime for me to be a part of something as important and full of tradition as the U.S. Army, and I wanted to reflect that in the video.
For more information about today's Army, you can visit http://www.army.mil, and for information on how to become a Soldier, you can visit http://www.goarmy.com
The military march is called "The Generals March: MacArthur and Patton", by Jerry Goldsmith and the Philharmonia Orchestra. The images came from Yahoo & Google Image Search.
As always, I ask you to be respectful, civil, and coherent. Any disrespect will cause your comment to be removed and you'll be blocked, so don't do it.
I hope you like the video, and rate it accordingly....ENJOY!

A simple video in tribute of the Coasties, and I call them that with a lot of respect and affection!
I have had many friends over the years who were and are members of the United States Coast Guard, and their performance in their assigned mission has been exemplary.
The USCG dates from 1790, when it was formed by then Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton, and since then this distinguished branch of our Armed Forces has protected the mainland from its home in our territorial waters.
Coastguardsmen have served in combat with distinction in all of our wars, where they bled and suffered along with the other branches. They are sometimes overlooked, and I want to salute their service here!
The music comes from the film score to the movie "Transformers", and it is called "Optimus". ENJOY!

This is a video dedicated to the men and women of the most powerful Navy the world has ever seen! The U.S. Navy has mentored and built the characters of some of the most influential Americans in our history, whom you'll see in the video.
Formed in 1775, the U.S. Navy has been in charge of protecting our territorial waters and our access to them, and of projecting our power and influence across the world's oceans. From Old Ironsides, (the USS Constitution), to the futuristic stealth destroyers of tomorrow, the United States Navy is unmatched in its power, and second to none when it comes to defending our country and our way of life.
