L'Associazione donne&bambini è stata fondata, nel marzo 2007, da un gruppo di donne che hanno conseguito le relative competenze come operatore del tempo libero per l'infanzia, che si sono incontrate l'anno 2005/2006 partecipando ad un progetto di 70 ore "Donne e bambini, per amore e per lavoro" patrocinato dal Comune di S.Giorgio a Cremano, presso il Liceo "C.Urbani", nell'ambito dei progetti finanziati dalla Comunità Europea (MISURA 7 AZIONE 7.3.).
A conclusione di tale corso hanno partecipato ad uno stage, invitate dal Comune, presso la sede del "Laboratorio Regionale Città dei bambini e delle bambine"
Si tratta di un Associazione senza fini di lucro che si prefigge di andare incontro alle esigenze delle mamme, garantendo per i loro figli una formazione educativa attraverso attività ri-creative e parascolastiche.
Lo scopo è quello di tutelare l'infanzia facendo propri i principi fondamentali scritti nella Carta dei Diritti dei Bambini, promuovendo così, il diritto al gioco, avvicinandosi di più alle esigenze dei bimbi e delle loro famiglie, coinvolgendoli direttamente nella vita dell'Associazione.
Con mille difficoltà e senza alcun contributo economico di alcun tipo, l'associazione è presente a San Giorgio a Cremano (Napoli) in maniera costante e sempre con iniziative che coinvolgono direttamente genitori e bambini.
