" Whenever there is smoking mentioned, whether it be cigarettes, or fire, or what have you, the show seems to always point it out in a subtle way. It usually hints at the smoke monster apparitions or the presence of the monster. I can't remember what episodes, but it has definitely occurred once or twice. I just thought it was very interesting how in this episode immediately after Emily's mother is about to light one up the nurse informs her that she can't and then who comes into frame? Alpert. I just can't help but feel this was important, and it seems to me that he is the most probable candidate for being directly connected with the monster somehow. His reaction to Locke's doodle was very insuring of this, to me anyway. Alpert's dark features i.e. his hair and eye color just seem to radiate smoke monster to me. " - thegr8tgraffin04

The main character, Billy Pilgrim, survives a plane crash (ties in to Lost). He is also kidnapped by aliens who see in 4 dimensions, with the 4th dimension being time.
