yo if you want to be a full time firefighter in a speififc state you must take their firefighter 1 test its 96 hours of training certain tests require their own test other states share a test i know here i NY the FF1 course i took holds for a few states (dont remember which unfortuneally) and i know PA requires you to take their own the only really national fire academy is the department of defence training one in texas and you must be mil to go their its how i plan to do it AF as firefighter then when my times done retire bac to a full time station they also pick ex service guys over collage grads best first step opition sign up as a volunteer at your local station im a 1 year vol in NYS in my department and by the end of your training youll know if its the job for you good luck buddy always nice helping someone going for the same career opition
