Thank you for doing the live broadcast on May 1. It inspired me in two ways - I've started writing again and I finally gave to public radio. I picked up the first season of the TV show and am trying not to watch it all in one weekend. Glad to see you have a youtube channel!

terrific idea on bringing the show live to the big screen, that was THE most enjoyable time ive had at the theater since the time i saw SPYKIDS 3D!!

This week's radio show was excellent, but three things came to mind while hearing the Jerry Springer segment on the show:

1) why no mention of Springer's short stint on Air America (which it's safe to assume was part of his wish to return from the dark side)

2) is This American Life being used as part of Springer's launch pad for that return?

3) is your YouTube page the only site where any non in-house discussion of the show is available??

When a friend of mine who goes to film school tried to describe TAL the tv show, he said, "When you watch it, you can tell they come radio."
I'm not sure if he meant this in a bad way, but I think he's right--in a mostly good way. TV and Hollywood movies are so seamless now. The cuts are barely visible. You forget the camera. Something about TAL on TV--you always remember the camera. Maybe it's just the change in the presentation from audio to pictures--but it feels like more than that. The images themselves feel self-conscious. And slightly imperfect. It's very refreshing. Like a producer is standing behind the image, waving his arms, and yelling, "Oh, goodness. I'm telling a story with pictures. Neat!"

I've been trying to buy this DVD all week. The boarders in my town didn't have it, and I couldn't order it off the website.
I want to give you my money!

I LOVE YOUR SHOW... Since my first year in college i listened to you as i drove home every sunday.... It's been this show that has inspired me to search out stories in my own career... Thank you for your endless inspiration, if you have a story in NM, i'm your man!
