I've been a teacher since 1993. I meet my at Fresno State and married in '92. I have 2 wonderful children. I was raised most of life in L.A. and then moved to the central valley in a city called Madera. Once I started college in '87, never left Fresno.
I enjoy using technology in the classroom. I believe it to be an effective tool for students to be creative, engaging, current, and motivated.
I also believe that if our country wants a nation of responsible, respectiful, productive, and caring citizens, our educational system must treat students with respect and allow them to be heard.
I believe students want our educational system to be different. They want to learn, not memorize facts. They want to engage, not sit in their seats and listen. They want to create, not take notes for a multiple choice test. They want to use technology, not pencil and paper. Students do WANT to learn, but we, as a nation, are failing them. We are not providing a system that allows them to be successful in whatever they choose. My hope is one day we, as a nation, can create an educational system that will allow students to be creative, engaging, current, and motivated, therefore, producing a respecful, responsible, productive, and caring citizen of this nation.
