In an Absolute sense, both organisms can be said to be "alive". As the Zen master said to the 'dead' squirrel, "Stop pretending."

Your "purpose smurpiss" comment is also a good show, fordalulz! 'Goal oriented behavior' is always the interpretation of the observer. A mouse looking for food does not have a purpose. The mouse does not think to itself, "I have a goal". If it did, it would be deluded like human beings. It's simply a mouse looking for food.

This is good, but maybe for some evokes the image of a hamster spinning on a wheel. How about: 'If you seek the purpose of life, then do not seek the purpose of life.'? Expressing spiritual concepts as a negative tends to leave one less likely to remain stuck at the conceptual level.

The economic transformation you're suggesting would require a massive awakening of human consciousness. As a process, do you see that happening in time to save humanity? Dubious.
