On November 15, 2007, Coppel held the Junior High School All-Region Band tryouts and the concert on December 15, 2007. Many band students audtioned and many didn't make the cut but only a select few. The numbers of students actually getting in was cut down to less, for instance, instead of the 15-18 (?) flutes that made it last year, the people brought it down to 10 flutes per band this year, making it harder to get in. The music for the concert was given to the ones that made the cut a few weeks before the clinic. From there, the students have quite literaly less than 24 hours, which starts on a Friday night and spends most Saturday, to learn their music and perform it in front of an audience. By Saturday night, the music is ready to be played. ---
The opening song of the night of the All-Reion Performance. Very cool piece; it's my other favorite song played by the Concert band. I'm curious to why they didn't play the other songs. My clarinet friend showed me his music and the other ones looked interesting to play. I don't know. Great playing you guys. I'll be looking forward to high school and All States next year. :)

A very Christmas-y piece played by the Concert band that night. Beautifully played in my opinion. Not much of a comment here.

In November of 2006, band students in a certain region come together to audiontion for a spot in one of the two bands for All-Region, taking only the best of the best. Around mid-December of 2006, those who had made the cut are then told to come to a clinic to learn their music they have recieved not long before the actual concert. There, they will literally have only less than 24 hours, which exspands over a Friday night and most of Saturday after, to know each and every one of their piece. By Saturday night, their music is pretty much ready to be played, amazing the audience on how quickly young musicians have learned such a piece.
So far, this is the shortest amount of time a band student will stay in that band. ---
My second favorite song that the Symphonic band played. Very cool sounding and really awesome arrangement.
Anyways, Incantations was played a bit slower than that of the actual tempo. With the original tempo, the song ends at about 5 minuets and 30 seconds but in this recording, it ends at about 6 minutes. Keep in mind, these are only 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that are in this band. Yes, there are 6th graders.

My clarinet friend said that this was his favorite song. Though, I'm slightly disappointed because I managed to get into the Symphonic band while he got Concert. I know he could do better than that because he made it into Symphonic band last year. D:
By the way, this is in Texas. (:

Alright, this is concert band playing. I swear, any band that I'm in, the other band seems to be playing music that sounds more fun to play. D: I think I have like the worst luck ever. Oh, well.
This is the Concert Bands last piece that they play and I LOVED the piece. Especially the second half of this song. Awesome.

A march from a moive the director mention that managed to forget. D: I also love this piece. Very first song that the Symphonic band played. Sigh, I don't really much on this either. :I

Gah! Why don't they have enough room in the titles?! But you know what the song is right?
Anyways, I don't much of a comment on this one except that I know that I played a wrong note but you can't hear it. (: I play a G flat instead of a G natural but nine of the flutes plus the rest of the band overpowered my incorrect playing! Haha.

Your's truely had made the cut!! Which, to me, was a really big jump from last year 13th (14th?) chair in the Concert band. (: This year I managed to make 10th (aka last) chair in the Symphonic Band. I was so freaken glad that I did and I couldn't thank anyone but my parents and lesson teacher.
This piece was really fun to play, though, I found it a bit ironic that we were playing this Jamacan-ish/Carribean/something piece in the winter. XD As you may have notice, there are a few parts where you hear some squeaks. Also, another thing that's ironic. The top band of the region is playing and then all of a sudden you hear a squeak from the best of the best band kids. =/
Hehe. I'm going to post up the rest later.
