Here's a compilation of some of the videos I made during my holiday in Egypt. I'm still a beginner at underwater photo-/videography, which explains the shakiness and occasional lack of focus. ^_^ "
The song ("Jar Jar's Introduction & The Swim To Otoh Gunga") is from Star Wars Episode I.

On July 1st, the crew of the Farley Mowat hauled in 30 nautical miles of longline, including 270 baited hooks.

The Yangtze river dolphin is but one example of the indiscriminate destruction that our kind infilicts every waking minute on the very world it depends on. I believe that much, much more could have been done to protect this unique and wonderful species.
Near the end of the video you see a captive finless porpoise. There are fewer than 400 of these animals surviving in the Yangtze river, and the death of the baiji species should create greater pressure to save them from the same fate.
The song is "Raindrops", composed by Roy Phillips.

The dead tucuxi dolphins (Sotalia guianensis) you see in this footage were trapped in nets
The dead tucuxi dolphins (Sotalia guianensis) you see in this footage were trapped in nets by fishermen to prevent them from surfacing for air.
No one has been charged for this crime because authorities are still trying to identify the fishermen caught on video.
Fishermen who illegally snag dolphins usually sell the meat to other boats to use as bait to catch sharks, said Globo TV, which broadcasted the footage.
Killing dolphins is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison in Brazil. If you live in Brazil and/or happen to recognize any of the fishermen who committed this crime, please don't waste any time in reporting them to the authorities.

On 12 February, the Robert Hunter and Farley Mowat engaged a whale-spotting vessel, the Kaiko Maru.
Operation Leviathan was a campaign by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to physically intervene with Japanese pirate whaling operations in the Southern Ocean. Sea Shepherd brought two ships, the Farley Mowat and the Robert Hunter (previously codenamed "Leviathan"), over 60 international volunteer crewmembers, a helicopter ("Kookaburra"), and fast Zodiac inflatable boats. The whalers murder quota for the winter of early 2007 altogether consists of up to a thousand Minke, fin and humpback whales, but it is unlikely that any more whales will be killed this season, due to a recent devastating fire aboard the Nisshin Maru.

On 9 February, Neptune's Navy located the Japanese whaling fleet's factory ship, the Nisshin Maru ("the Death Star for the whales"- Captain Paul Watson). The Sea Shepherd crew successfully delivered six liters of butyric acid (a harmless, horrid-smelling substance found in rancid butter) onto the ship's flensing deck. The scent cleared the flensing deck and stopped all work of cutting up whales. Sea Shepherd crew in Zodiacs also nailed plates to the drain outlets on the Nisshin Maru that spill blood from the flensing deck into the ocean. This forces the blood back up onto the flensing decks. The plates were secured by Hilt nail guns that drive nails through solid steel. There was a pod of whales in the area who fled during the confrontation and are now safe from the whalers. Sea Shepherd was able to evade the Japanese satellite tracking system by taking its ships through heavy ice, where a ship's wake cannot be traced.
Operation Leviathan is a campaign underway by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to physically intervene with Japanese pirate whaling operations in the Southern Ocean. Sea Shepherd is using two ships, the Farley Mowat and the Robert Hunter (previously codenamed "Leviathan"), over 60 international volunteer crewmembers, a helicopter ("Kookaburra"), and fast Zodiac inflatable boats. The whalers murder quota for the winter of early 2007(which is actually summer in Antarctica) altogether consists of up to a thousand Minke, fin and humpback whales. The Sea Shepherd crews are risking their lives to protect the sentient, extremely intelligent mammals who share the planet with us.

A video by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society about its campaign to protect the unique plant and animal species of the Galapagos Islands from various threats, most importantly poaching.
The text reads: "Only after the last tree is cut Only after the last ocean is contaminated Only after the last shark is mutilated Only after this you will understand that our nature can disappear."
Then the Sea Shepherd speakers say something I can't understand, but by now you probably get the idea.
The last two bits of text after that mean: "For our paradise. Conservation in Action"
