Title of this sacred song: MAHA JAYAMANGALA-GATHA (Great Verses of Joyous Victory). JAYAMANGALA-GATHA Paritta is the pali chanting that Maha Ghosananda loved so much. We always listened to this sacred song whenever we were on a trip. This is the paritta chanting I love most and the chanting that could keep me awake all night!
The Man with the Infectious Smile: His name is Maha Ghosananda, the Supreme Patriarch of Cambodian Buddhism, also known as "Gandhi of Cambodia." No matter what type of situation you're coping once you see Maha Ghosananda you will forget everything. This Holy Man has a smile on his face 24/7, that unique and genuine smile that is very infectious, this smile can heal all kind of stress.
Putting together this slideshow makes me feel very painful. I just wanted to hide and cry, but Maha Ghosananda would rather see me smile...I miss him so much...
TRUTHFULNESS FORBEARANCE GRATITUDE
is the teaching the Holy Man wanted us to pass on...May all beings live in peace and happiness...

Long View Farms of Hull Iowa is defying a sovereign tribal court order and constructing a hog farm on the Yankton Sioux Reservation. The Tribe and community members alike both do not want it there. A peaceful protest is ongoing and the South Dakota Police showed up, RESMURS-style. (ask an FBI Agent what RESMURS is) They have created a climate of fear, positioning a sniper with a spotter on top of a trailer at the scene. Yes, guns were cased, but nonetheless, they were right beside them. It's a sovereign thing. And remember you only GIVE sovereignty away, it can't be taken away. Come attempt to take the sovereignty of these peaceful protesters and you'll find out why it isn't taken away.

December 1997 The lure of Uranium has proved irresistible to successive Australian governments and Australia's Environment Minister has dismissed the Mirrar people's objections to the Jabiluka mine. This lucrative project could sever the Mirrar people's spiritual links with the earth and the sights of sacred significance throughout the valley. "I was born in the bush" Yvonne Margarula tells us, "sleeping on the ground with the fire". Twice Academy Award nominated director, David Bradbury, explores the effects of this cultural devastation on the lives of a people and a land inextricably joined.
Rare archive footage shows how Yvonne's father and his people were bullied into giving their legal consent to a lease over Jabiluka. The traditional landowners were encouraged to consider not just their own wishes but that of Australian progress as a whole. But they thought they were negotiating for a land claim, not another uranium mine. Yvonne's father Toby was weakened by stress and spent most of the fateful meeting lying down. His sigh "I'm tired now, I can't fight any more" was taken as all the consent needed for the mine to go ahead. He received a silver plated pen for his trouble.
Today, Yvonne continues his struggle. The issue of land rights is clearer to her: "We know we own the country." But the question remains, what are land rights worth when the Mirrar people are powerless to stop the destruction of cultural tradition? They have gained little from the development of their country, despite promises from the mining company. They receive 4.2% of gross sales from another mine, Ranger, but bureaucracy eats up most of that budget and basic services are conspicuously lacking. Today, Aborigines suffer from rampant alcoholism, a symptom of powerlessness. They receive an annual payment of $400 as a royalty for the lease for the Jabiluka mine, but now they want to give that money back to the mining company and to annul the old agreement.
If Jabiluka goes ahead, it will be below the floodplain in a tropical wetland, and the fear is that radioactive deposits may be carried far with the rains. The land is a World Heritage sight, attracting 300,000 tourists a year. The Jabiluka mine project has been condemned by scientists and environmentalists, yet Energy Resources asserts that the risks of radiation are "absolutely negligible". "We do not add any radiation to what's already there naturally," he adds. But contaminated water supplies may be causing birth defects in Aboriginal children. Environmentalists are also concerned that the tailings will remain active for the next 250,000 years, and that mining increases the chances of stable uranium moving. It is the first of 26 Uranium mines awaiting government approval.
Stunning footage of this threatened land reinforces the sadness felt for what could be lost. Now other Australians are supporting the Aborigines in what many see as standing up to what mounts up to an outright swindle of their land. Yvonne Margarula's fear grows more acute: "Money's not going to fix anything. They can take it back. White man money, not black fella money. Money's going to kill us." Protesters struggle to hang a banner on the proposed mine site. As the helicopter lifts away, the hilltop banner makes a poignant Image. In the struggle to protest in a language that will reach the white people, maybe the Aborigine voice will finally be heard.

This video is a dedication to the Lord Sakyamuni Buddha. I made this special segment for the Makha Puja Day, a very important ceremony for all Buddhists around the world.
Makha Puja Day takes place on the full moon day of the third lunar month. This holy day is observed to commemorate two important events in the life of the Lord Buddha. After the first Rain Retreat at Deer Park, Lord Buddha went to Rahagaha city. There were 1,250 Arahantas (Enlightened followers) returned from their mission without prior appointment to pay respect to the Lord Buddha. This assembly is called the Fourfold Assembly as a result from 4 special factors: 1. All 1,250 monks were Arahants. 2. All of them had been ordained by the Lord. 3. They assembled by themselves without prior call. 4. It was the full moon day of Makha month.

All Our Relations ~ Sang By: Ulali ~ Lyrics By: Pura Fe.
A note about "All My Relations"
All Our Relations ~ Sang By: Ulali ~ Lyrics By: Pura Fe. A note about "All My Relations" The music for All My Relations" is based on an Irish drinking song from the late 1700's. Gary Owen is actually the American pronunciation of two Gaelic words that roughly translate into Owen's Garden, (and I do mean roughly) which is or was a place in Ireland where people gathered to drink and whatever. It was listed as "Auld Bessy" at a publishing in 1788 and subsequently attributed to "Jackson of Cork" around 1800. It was adopted by the American military during the 1800's as a marching song.
It is often referred to as Gary Owen March or Hale in the States. It was often used by the American military as they marched into battle to kill the Native Americans, most notably by Custer at the battle of Little Big Horn as he marched against the Lakota Nation. It continues to this day to be used by the American military. Pura Fe wrote the narative that Ulali speaks over the music. We use it as the background of the narrative to commemorate and honor all our relations and others who have died throughout the wars.

I composed, arranged and recorded this multitrack version of "Suddenly". Mixing, mastering and video editing credits go to my friend Shini Mhini.
"Suddenly" Words & music by Mary Win. Copyright © 2007 Mary Win. All rights reserved.
Suddenly all the things around me just stop shimmering Blocked from moving free, though temporarily Above the latex surface born from my beliefs But somethings causing me to fold...
Oh, Oh somethings causing me to fold, fold on my knees (x2)
Again you feed me from the trough you fill up so sparingly With imaginative words of love and browning leaves This time they left me sick and standing wearily But somethings causing me to fold...
Oh, Oh somethings causing me to fold, fold on my knees (x2)
From memory I redraw the pictures you colored in so carefully They depict the ancient chime that you had rung for me In places riddled with our secrets and discoveries But somethings causing me to fold...
Oh, Oh somethings causing me to fold, fold on my knees (x2)
