"Everyone's got an opinion about BARRY BONDS' ball that broke HANK AARON'S home run record.
Some feel it is a piece of history that belongs in the Hall of Fame. Others believe it is the embodiment of a cheating culture—not just in baseball—but in professional sports overall.

I have my own opinion, I've been part of this debate just like everyone else. But I wanted to make it just a little more real. I bought this baseball to democratize the debate over what to do with it. The idea that some of the best athletes in the country are forced to decide between being competitive and staying natural is troubling.I leave the decision up to you." -Marc Ecko

Did the Taliban have the right to destroy the Buddas of Bamyan? Did the Turks have the right to blow the nose off the Great Sphinx of Giza? Does Marc have the right to put an asterisk on the ball?

Just because someone has the right to do something does not make it a good idea.

I don't respect the Taliban for destroying the Buddas of Bamyon. I don't respect the Turks for blowing the nose off the Great Sphinx of Giza. I don't respect Marc for putting an asterisk on the ball.

Whether you think that is kind of overstating it a bit or not is your choice. I hope you get my point.

"This is not justice, this is vandalism. Watching some fashion guy misuse his resources to deface a historical sports artifact is no different than the Taliban destroying the Buddhas of Bamyan, or the Turks blowing the nose off the Great Sphinx of Giza."

That's kind of overstating it a bit don't you think? :)

Dumb videos, dumb clothes, dumb thing to do to a piece of baseball history.

To simplify, Marc Ecko is dumb, and so is anyone who buys his clothing.

Hey schmatlicker, looks like seniorchief6 was too busy chocking on his words to get your point. He must think Hitler was a great guy because he owned lots of Jews and did what he wanted with them.

seems to me schmatlicker, if you were a true baseball fan that you'd be unhappy with what bonds has done to the game (and yes, macguire and sosa too). This ball is tainted. It deserves the asterisk. It's not vandalism either . . . Marc paid for it . . . as it was sold by the guy who caught it. Vandalism is when someone damages something that doesn't belong to them. Marc bought it, he can do what he wants with it. He just chose to give the public a chance to have a say. It's been said before, but I'll say it again . . . thanks Marc.
