Its very simple: Republicans believe that guns, which kill people, are a constitutional right. But they will not give gays, who only want to love one another, any rights under the same constitution. McCain/Palin will deliver no equality rights for gays. I also note that Palin DOES NOT ANSWER when challenged by Biden as to whether she agrees that gays should have the same legal rights as heterosexuals. She answers a DIFFERENT question. It is embarrassing, and the audience even laugh at her!

How was the interview set up to sabotage her? The questions were simply probing, standard journalistic questions that were looking for her insight into big issues which affect the whole USA - even the world. Her performance was incoherent and confused. There are no sentences, no original ideas - just a list of buzzwords strung together in random order. If she was not running for VP, it would be funny.

I fully support gay marriage - but most US states don't even have any form of civil union for gays yet. If Biden/Obama introduce a national right to civil union that is one big step forwards for gays in the red states. Gay marriage can then come later. That is just the sensible stepwise approach - we have had civil unions in the UK (not marriages), but most people think of them as marriages - and I am sure in a few years they will be.

This is frighteningly bad. It is as bad as the clip of the dumb beauty queen being asked about education in America. Its just random words strung together with little coherence. Then again - Bush won two elections that way!

So some of her family and friends are very intolerant? No surprises there!!
