Dear Lara is a feature documentary exposing decades of sexual abuse and institutional cover-up in classical music, told through acclaimed Juno Award-winning violinist Lara St. John. In 2019, Lara went public about the assault she endured at age 14 at the elite Curtis Institute of Music. Hundreds of survivors reached out, and she traveled across North America and Europe to document their accounts, revealing a pattern of abuse shielded by the institutions meant to protect young musicians. The film compiles those accounts to shed light and create change in the classical music industry.

The documentary is an official selection of the Santa Barbara, Berkshire, and Cascadia Women's International film festivals, the film has drawn comparisons to Spotlight and She Said. Subscribe for clips, survivor interviews, and screening news.
