Kwameku

Kwameku is a virtual Afrobeat collective rooted in diaspora. The sound of people who move between worlds and carry their music with them.

This project started in a storage unit on Cape Cod. Composition notebooks full of lyrics written over twenty years ago, buried under speakers and old hardware, written off as lost. They weren't lost. They were waiting.

Those songs have been rebuilt from the ground up, genre by genre, across Afrobeat, drum and bass, synthwave, amapiano and beyond. The result is a catalog that doesn't belong to any one sound or any one place.

That's the point.

Debut album Yours Sincerely out now.
