Open 6 music

Aussie battler rebuilding his heavy music project from scratch. Subscribe to follow the process.

Open 6 is an independent Australian metal/hard rock project built around riffs, demos, guitar culture and home-studio production.

The channel is organised into:
• RIFF LAB — new riffs and song ideas
• CHOP SHOP — rebuilding guitar and bass chops
• DEMO LAB — rough songs, playthroughs, mime-throughs and visualisers
• FROM THE VAULT — old magazines, nostalgia and heavy music culture
• TONE LAB — amp sims, textures and production experiments

The music moves through nu metal, hardcore, metalcore, groove metal, alternative metal, post-hardcore, grunge-inspired hard rock and atmospheric textures.

Some videos are finished releases. Others show the ugly process of making songs better over time.

Gear/tools include modified Strats, ESP guitars, STL Tones, Ableton, DistroKid, Canva, and Videobolt.

No AI is used in the writing or production of the music.
