What Is HD?

What Is HD? is about helping more people understand Huntington’s disease through real families, real stories and honest conversations.

My wife Sarah has Huntington’s disease, and our family has lived with the reality of this devastating inherited condition for many years.

Here I’ll share our HD journey, awareness films, family stories and videos that help explain what Huntington’s really means, not only to the person diagnosed, but to the generations around them.

This channel is also home to I Am HD, a puppet I created after asking Huntington’s families around the world:

“If Huntington’s disease was a puppet, what would it look and feel like?”

More than 55 people shared their experiences. Their words and emotions helped shape the character and gave Huntington’s a face and a voice.

Whether HD is part of your life or you’ve simply wondered “What is HD?”, you’re welcome here.

Real families. Real stories. Helping Huntington’s disease become better understood.
