Aakkagam Studio

Aakkagam Studio makes generative art. "Aakkagam" is Tamil for creation, which is more or less what goes on here: nothing is filmed and nothing is drawn, so every frame has to be worked out as arithmetic before it becomes a picture.

Different pieces come from different maths, and I try not to repeat myself. What they have in common is that I never fully know what I am going to get. You set the rules, run it, and the result argues back. Most of the work is deciding which accidents are worth keeping.

The soundtracks are made the same way, and they respond to what is on screen instead of just sitting underneath it.

Most of it loops cleanly, end back into beginning, so it runs as long as you leave it running.

I post new pieces when they're done.
