Aberford Literature Festival

Aberford Literature Festival (ALF) takes place the 19th-21st June 2026 and is a celebration of the written word for all ages. It's BOUND to be fun!

The festival aims to recognise and reward writing by people from Aberford and surrounding areas regardless of age or circumstance. Our annual events include guest speakers, workshops, Q&As, appearances from our mascot ALFIE (the Arabian Horse), book signings and award ceremonies to celebrate writing achievements and encourage people - young and old - to get into writing (and reading).

Started in 2024 and organised by Aberford Authors (founded in 2022), this year (2026) promises to be even bigger with now 3-days of events scheduled, inviting participation from neighbouring towns and villages, whether directly or via our programmes running in both Garforth and Wetherby libraries.
