Alabama Blues Project

The Alabama Blues Project has been bringing innovative Blues music programs to children and adults around the state for over 20 years. Its mission is to promote and preserve the Blues as a traditional and contemporary art form, with particular focus on the contribution from Alabama’s great Blues musicians.

Students ages 6 through 18 who display a high level of dedication and improvement may be asked to participate in ABP's advanced band, "Alabama Blues Project Productions". These young musicians receive a more intensive learning experience, having the opportunity to rehearse each week as a structured band. While honing their music skills and working together, they also learn to recognize and play a variety of Blues styles and sometimes write original songs. They set the stage for the Alabama Blues Project’s tradition of regularly performing at community events such as the Kentuck Festival of the Arts, the Druid City Music Festival, and the Magic City Blues Festival.
