Alison Skarratt

My passion for composing music for the guitar has only recently been joined by the desire to illustrate it with a photographic story. Sometimes, a photo I take inspires me to write a piece of music and sometimes a composition sends me on a hunt for shots that represent the feelings that went into its creation.

My music is a blend of all the genres I've enjoyed listening to since I was young, from classical to blues, celtic to rock/pop and folk/world musical styles. I draw inspiration from family and friends, from our amazing planet with its stunning beauty and the raw energy of its elements and also from inspiring human achievements and endeavours.

I write for solo guitar as well as for duos, trios and quartets. Most of my music is available for purchase in booklet form or as a pdf. Please visit my website for further information on my music.
