American National School offers an enriched, balanced American Curriculum with an international perspective while preserving the Emirate Heritage. Our American Curriculum is based on American Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, Math, History/Geography, and Next Generation Science Standards for Science. The curriculum allows for more creative freedom to impact the individual student while providing critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills students need to be successful in an international setting. Students are supported by challenging and rigorous lessons and extracurricular activities that ensure they have the opportunity to develop as well-rounded individuals. ANS instructions are geared towards inquiry-based, hands-on teaching methods, and best-practices learning strategies. The Measure of Academic Progress Test (MAP) provides teachers real-time data as to the individual progress each student makes in language, science, math and English.
