A '90s kid, Jon Penton grew up playing Americana folk and Christian worship music but his 2025 debut album, The Stars Are Glitching, reflects his astrophotography and stargazing adventures. The tracks were composed on iPhones using GarageBand iOS over several years ('20-'25)

The album features a mix of calm study/meditation tracks, synth/cyber-punk bangers for gym sessions and road trips, and a 19-minute recording of a Texas thunderstorm. A mildly explicit, aggressive track titled "Yes, I'd Like to File a Noise Complaint" is also included.

Penton credits his wife, Heather (featured on the cover), for encouraging him to polish and release the music. He is currently working on a covers album and an original album with vocals and acoustic instruments. Enjoy, share, and add to your playlists - and keep looking up!
