Bubblegum Binding

I’m Khat, a Melbourne-based bookbinder with a love of books, making things with my hands, and the deeply satisfying feeling of having all the covers on a shelf actually match.

I originally got into bookbinding because I wanted to bind fanfiction into physical books, and it quickly turned into a much bigger hobby. Then came journals, rebinds, second-hand book hunting, learning new techniques, and finding increasingly elaborate reasons to make another book.

Here you’ll find bookbinding tutorials, short rebind clips, and plenty of second-hand books getting new covers. I’m not here to pretend everything goes perfectly the first time either. A big part of the fun is experimenting, learning as I go, and working out how to turn the idea in my head into something I can actually put on the shelf.

Mostly, it’s just me making books I want to own and sharing how I do it.
