Christian Bellissimo (Child Play Therapist)

Christian Bellissimo, MSW, LCSW, RPT, LLC is a play therapist practicing in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University and Rutgers University, with degrees in Psychology and Clinical Social Work. He is a New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified School Social Worker, and  Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy. 

In practice since 2000, Christian worked with children who lost parents and family members on 9/11. He specializes in working with young children who have experienced early adversity. He is a contracted therapist with New Jersey's Division of Child Protection and Permanency, for whom he treats the youngest victims of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and trauma. 

Christian is also employed by Asbury Park Schools, where he serves as a preschool and elementary intervention specialist. 

In 2016, Christian published Universal Play Therapy: A Guide for Supporting Young Children's Development.
