I write novels with my partner Patrick—literary science fiction and horror, published through our own imprint, Industrially Powered Magic—about what people owe each other, and what they refuse to. The first, The Soft Word, opens a trilogy; a generation-ship novella and a surveillance horror sit beside it. None of them end happily on purpose. Some of them end well.

I also write about being queer, chronically ill, disabled, and deeply suspicious of anything that claims to be “inspiring.” Personal essays that refuse to be neat, poetry that doesn’t always rhyme with hope, and academic work on de/colonial pedagogy and queer theory.

This isn’t a space for inspiration porn—not in the essays, not in the fiction. It’s for honesty, complexity, and the kind of dark humor that keeps you alive when your collagen doesn’t. If you want only silver linings, this isn’t your spot. But if you’re up for the messy work of existing authentically? Pull up a chair.
