Encre / Christina Breen

I am a Queer Seattle DIY Folk Bard and Singer/Songwriter focused on healing, connection, and liberation.

I grew up in a small rural mountain town in Arizona called Payson.I could be found on any given day playing with wild animals, dancing, drawing, writing, protecting my little brother from our parents, or at church, on stage, singing backup vocals for a boy.

My Christian school was small, with class sizes between 2-10 students and, though many of the teachers did their best to give us opportunities, there were malicious people in the ranks. I have art to thank for surviving the abuse of my childhood.

I have lived in many places after leaving Arizona that have informed my art: Spain, California, Arkansas, Virginia, and, finally, Washington since 2022, when I fled an abusive relationship. Since coming to Seattle, I have found comfort in the celebration of queer and creative individuals. I am finally ready to expand as an artist and be heard.
