History of Hunger

For seven Million Years, one force has shaped every chapter of the human story: hunger.

The History of Hunger: How Food Made Humanity traces the chronological journey of humanity through food, beginning long before agriculture, civilization, or even modern humans. From Toumaï and our earliest hominin ancestors to the rise of empires and global trade, each episode explores how the search for food drove evolution, transformed our bodies and brains, inspired innovation, and built societies.

This isn't a cooking show—it's the story of how food shaped our species.

Blending anthropology, archaeology, evolutionary biology, and history, the series asks one fundamental question: How did humanity's struggle to eat become the foundation of civilization itself?
