HyperActive Asteroids

We are HyperActive Asteroids, a Citizen Science project hosted on Zooniverse!

We invite volunteers to search for asteroids with comet-like activity using images from the Subaru Telescope Hyper Suprime-Cam (one of the most sensitive telescope instruments in the world). Active asteroids are important because they tell us about different processes that happen in our Solar System. They can even hold clues to the location of water, which is necessary for life on Earth. But we can't do it alone... the full Hyper Suprime-Cam dataset has over 6 million images! We need YOUR help to find active asteroids!

This channel will host information about the science of active asteroids, along with some behind-the-scenes insight from our Science Team. Stay tuned for the official announcement of the launch of our Zooniverse project!
