They called him The Piano Prince of New Orleans, The Bayou Maharajah, The Ivory Emperor — a classically trained prodigy who fused gospel, rhythm & blues, jazz, and classical music into performances as unpredictable as they were unforgettable.

Despite his brilliance, the circumstances of his life meant he was often under-recognised in his lifetime, leaving behind far fewer official recordings than his talent deserved.

This channel is dedicated to sharing rare live recordings and performances from my personal archive — the joy, the pain, and the extraordinary music of James Carroll Booker III.
