Joel R. Gabriel (Songwriter)

I started writing and collating poems back in the first year of high school, prodded by my English and Literature teacher who seemed to have taken a liking to the way I expressed myself in both imagery and form.  By the second year, I took piano lessons but eventually grew tired of the cadence; after my second recital, I begged off and dropped out of the program.  The money allocated supposedly for tuition went towards the purchase of books and materials that I used to hone the craft on my own.  Freed from the formality of music education, it took almost no time before I was merging the written form into melodies that crop out of my imagination.

I must have written tens of dozens of "songs" that neither never made it past my journal, nor transcribed in any tangible form.  The collections that I publish here are mostly those that I personally deemed to have some popular appeal that would tug at the heartstrings or evoke emotional connections.
