LAMDA - Law and Mental Disorder Association

LAMDA Canada is The Law and Mental Disorder Association of Canada, a volunteer lawyer organization founded in 2017 by its President, Anita Szigeti, an Ontario lawyer who specializes in the litigation of mental health at its cross-roads with the law. The Association has approximately 250 lawyer and law student members across Canada, all of whom either practise mainly in mental health law or have a strong interest in doing so once called to the Bar. This national organization engages in public education, training of its members and others and systemic advocacy on matters of import to individuals with serious mental health issues, represented by the lawyer members. LAMDA is frequently consulted by tribunals and government agencies on policy matters and makes submissions in the interest of its clients.
