Long Island Cross County Section - NCNW, Inc. (NCNW LICCS)

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. is an “organization of organizations” comprised of 300 campus & community based sections & 32 national women’s organizations that enlightens, inspires & connects more than 2,000,000 women & men. Our mission is to lead, advocate for & empower women of African descent, their families & communities. The Long Island Cross County Section was organized on April 24, 1994 with the goal to "Lead – Inform – Create – & Cultivate" by transforming lives on Long Island to positively impact women from the African diaspora & fulfill the vision & mission of our founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Our programs are grounded on a foundation of critical concerns known as “Four for the Future” to promote education with a special focus on science, technology, engineering & math; encourage entrepreneurship, financial literacy & economic stability; educate women about good health & HIV/AIDS; promote civic engagement, & advocate for sound public policy & social justice.
