Luxe Den Capitol Reef

One of the darkest skies in the country, and a bed nine miles from the Capitol Reef National Park boundary.

Luxe Den Capitol Reef is a six-bedroom lodge on fifteen acres at 7,000 feet, four miles outside Torrey, Utah. Every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. There is a full shared kitchen rather than a breakfast service, and check-in is self-serve, so nobody is waiting at a desk. Take a single room, or take the whole building for a group.

The sky is why we are here. Capitol Reef is a Gold-tier International Dark Sky Park, and Torrey was the first national park gateway town in the United States certified as a Dark Sky Community. We are rebuilding the property around what is overhead: six tempered-glass geodesic domes go in for the 2027 season.

This channel covers the night sky, the drives, the trails, and the practical detail of planning a trip to Wayne County.
