Sashruta

Music tells the tale of a soul. Indian classical music truly defines eternity. We believe "Music is the highest art and to those who understand, is the highest worship." We are in search of the soul in music.
Sashruta was founded by Sri Subir De back in 2016 in the memory of Late Sri Chandrakanta Dey, who was a sitarist and a senior disciple of Pt. Benjamin Gomes who was a very famous disciple of Ustad Vilayet Khan Saheb. The sole aim of Sashruta is to promote Indian Classical Music.
Shruti, being Sri Subir's daughter has been practising the Sarod since her 4th birthday. The name of her has been given by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, her father's guru. Saswata, the son of Subir has been practising the Sitar since his childhood. Smt. Saswati De is their mother and a vocalist herself. Without their contributions, Sashruta cannot grow or go forward to its motto.
