Challenging Stigma in Social Housing

In 2023, Dr. Mercy Denedo (Durham University) and Professor Amanze Ejiogu (Sheffield Hallam University), Stop Social Housing Stigma Campaign, Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), TPAS, and YD Consultants launched a project to address the stigma faced by social housing tenants.

This results in a practical framework titled "The Tackling Stigma Journey Planner" to support tenants and landlords to work together to understand and challenge stigma.

We also produced two key reports:

2.     Tackling Social Housing Stigma Journey Planner: Pioneer Travellers’ Case Studies and Learning Points

To bring lived experiences to life, we created short films featuring tenants, housing professionals, and academics. These powerful narratives offer both personal and professional perspectives on how stigma is constructed and experienced, and most importantly, how it can be effectively challenged.
