Lotions, Potion, and Hard Truths

I’m Cheryl L. Mitchell, creator of Lotions, Potions, and Hard Truths, where practical making, botanical magic, and honest education meet.

I’m a certified aromatherapist and herbalist, a certified Reiki Master Teacher in both Usui Reiki and Five Element Dragon Fire Reiki, and an energy worker. My education includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an entrepreneurial certificate from Missouri Western University. I’ve also completed training and earned certificates in surfactants, cosmetic chemistry, preservatives, and essential oil safety, including education through the Tisserand Institute.

Here, I share what I’ve learned about making lotions, sprays, soaps, perfumes, herbal products, and other creations. We can explore essential oils, fragrance oils, botanicals, and the intention we bring to our work, while staying honest about how ingredients behave and what safe, thoughtful making requires.
