Westbury & District Cricket Club

Westbury & District CC was founded in 1945 by Capt RM Laverton. However, this was not the first cricket game played in Westbury as in 1890 there was a game played behind the local police station now called ‘Town Park’ between WH Laverton XI vs Australia. The match was then replayed in 1893 at the Leighton Recreation ground which is where we still play our home games today. 
We are the only sports team in the town to proudly support the White Horse as our club badge which was made famous by King Alfred’s victory at the battle of Ethandun.
We have again been awarded with an ECB Clubmark accreditation. This accreditation shows that the ECB has acknowledged that our club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members. The Clubmark accreditation also means that our club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.
